Nike loves putting out sneakers in packs, Chinese new year, animal, Just do it and many more. Now it’s time for the “Throwback future” pack which consists of six sneakers. All sneakers (except for the 720 and the Vapormax) within the package make use of the “Throwback future” color palette which consists of mostly black with bright blue and fuchsia.
The choice for the highspeed train inspired Air Max 97 LX makes a lot of sense when you know the name of the pack is inspired by the past views on the future. The sneaker gets the sleek upper you’re used to from the Air Max 97. Materials used for the upper are a combination of synthetics, leather and mesh.
The Air Max 720 is logically chosen for this pack for it’s futuristic look. This sneaker stands out from the rest of the pack with some olive green hints instead of bright blue and fuchsia. The black used on the upper stands out as well with the oily detail.
Then the Air Max Deluxe, a sneaker popularized again by UK grime rapper/style icon Skepta. The sneaker got it’s first release way back in 1999. This is the most heavily colored sneaker in the pack and it works amazingly.
Last years Air Max 270 also gets it’s very own spot in the “Throwback future” pack. Since the release of this years Air Max 720 the rate in which 270’s are coming out has slowed down, this release may put it back on Nike’s radar. The sneaker uses the mesh you’re used to as well as all the other materials you know and love.
The oldest sneaker in the bunch does a calm take on the black, bright blue, fuchsia colorway. The interesting part to the Air Max 95 is that it was the first of the Air Max line which used the air technology in the front of the foot.
Finally there’s the Vapormax 2019 run. The sleek running sneaker which looks best underneath a pair of slim fit joggers. This one leaves the fuchsia to the other sneakers and goes for the simplicity of a black upper and sole unit with the blue taping to finish it all off.
