Lacoste honors the late Keith Haring with a collaboration on their Missouri sneaker.
René Lacoste a.k.a. “The crocodile” founded Lacoste in 1933 together with Andé Gillier. The two wanted to create revolutionary tennis clothing which was to be worn on the court and off. The company claims to be the first brand to ever feature the logo on the outside of a piece of clothing. But all that was way back in the 30’s these days Lacoste is one of the bigger casual and sportswear brands which collaborates with many brands from Supreme to Disney to Keith Haring.
The last one is up this time for a collection consisting of polo’s, sweaters and of course sneakers. The Missouri is one of the sneakers within the Lacoste catalog. The late artist created popart in the shape of cartoony characters in all shapes and sizes. The Missouri sneaker gets coated in white with an all-over print of Haring’s iconic art. The Sneakers upper is fully made from leather with a rubber sole.
