Beated Heat!

Beated Heat!

SneakerBAAS had the privilege of being at Lowlands '19! Between the cool shows of, among others, A$AP ROCKY, Anderson Paak, and more we were able to spot an extreme amount of heat. Even during the festival you rock the thickest sneakers! See this years "BEATED HEAT below:

OFF-White has not only brought a lot of changes to the Sneaker culture, but also managed to move the entire fashion industry in a different direction.

With the release of "The Ten" collection, Virgil Abloh ensured that not only sneakerheads started camping, but that the fashion heads also prepared to pay more than double for a sneaker on the resale market.

Kanye West aka Yeezy has been on top of the sneaker game for years. With his YEEZY line at Adidas Originals, he is not nearly finished yet. The Fashion God knows how to use new shades on his modern/futuristic sneakers so that they stay in one line but are all unique. Would you wear a fresh pair of YEEZYs to music festival?

The DAD-Shoe trend has been going on for a while now but does not know when to stop. The brand that has grown with the DAD shoes; New Balance. New Balance brought back the 990 OG last year. The DAD shoe of DAD shoes in our eyes! What do you think of this trend?

Every year we are amazed by what we encounter at LowLands. This pair has been through a lot since this is the first re-release of the Nike Air Max Light "Teal" and dates from 2007. That this pair is still in the wild in this state and then shows at a festival that the Netherlands shows a is really Air Max country.

Not only New Balance has been able to continue the DAD trend for 2 years, Nike has dropped the Nike Air Monarch again without announcement last year. The cheapest, craziest and most fashionable DAD sneaker around. With its low price and mega striking bulky shape, a true DAD shoe classic for everyone.

The Dutchies are not only Air Max enthusiasts, we are also the makers of the Air Max HYPE! The Netherlands has so far contributed to the success of various Air Max 1. Dutch local Piet Parra is therefore our pride and legendary illustrator. It started with the Nike Air Max 1 "Albert Heijn" which Piet Parra designed for Nike but was never officially released. After which a list of released collaborations arose. Last year Piet Parra managed to shake up the sneaker game again with his last Air Max/Spiridon collaboration with Nike.

Every year we celebrate PRIDE month with the world. An important moment to show the world that everyone is welcome and everyone can be who he / she wants to be. Every year especially for this month, Nike releases a special collection. This included a Nike Air Max 90 with a rock-hard multipy swoosh design last year. A sneakerheads must have!

Kanye West knew with this model; the Yeezy 350 “Turtle Dove” to make the sneaker world completely crazy. With every colorway that comes out, he manages to drive European, American and Asian sneaker heads crazy and there are rows in front of the stores.

You can't miss buying an OG edition of a sneaker. Every brand and model has a true classic. When Reebok first released the Ventilator Supreme, this sneaker had comfort that had never been experienced before in a sport shoe. In the years that followed, rappers such as Cam'ron took over the sneaker for special editions and the retro sneaker entered the sneaker world.

Kanye West has managed to turn the sneaker into a fashion item with its YEEZY line. Where before the sneaker was primarily seen as a sport shoe, he managed to make sneakers fashionable by combining it with high end fashion items. In his YEEZY line he uses simple colors with high end matching clothing, the sneaker has been a fashion item just like sneaker / sport shoe for a number of years now.

PUMA has returned the PUMA RS-X collection 2 years ago and did this through various collabs such a; a collaboration with Motorola, MTV & Ferrari. All nostalgic brands that were allowed to apply their view of their brand on the sneaker model. Since then, the RS-X is back in the streets and again a classic that you should not miss in your sneaker closet.

More and more you see fashion designers coming together with sneaker brands. This is the ultimate sign that sneakers have officially become runway proof. Adidas has also done various clothing / sneaker collections with none other than Alexander Wang. This model received the platform treatment at the time.

After the success of the Nike Air Max 1/97 x Sean Wotherspoon, Nike again held a vote forward competition last year. This time, not just 1 sneaker was selected, but sneakers were selected per city, so did the Nike Air Max 1 "Tokyo Maze". A sneaker inspired by the streets of Tokyo that can be a maze. This pair is ready to be beated at LowLands.

Nike always manages to surprise with the Air Max 1. Also with this release everyone was hyped again about a certain part that Nike brought back; the crep sole. This sole does not have the pattern that you are used to with the Air Max 1 sole. This is namely completely smooth with a small texture over it. In addition, the swoosh received the "fluffy treatment", something that Nike hadn't done on the Air Max 1 for a long time and was made famous by the legendary Nike Air Max 1 x Parra "Cherry Wood".

The Nike Air Max 98 "Black Leopard" was introduced last year and is becoming a true classic. Nike has a rich history with the Leopard pattern and always manages to apply it in such a way that it is unique and an addition to the earlier leopard releases. Due to its color a perfect festival sneaker.

This edition of the Nike Air Max 1 must be the classic of the past year. The colors are inspired from a "Watermelon". A sneaker that the real Nike heads can't miss in their sneaker collection!

The Vans Old Skool is an old skool (It's in the name;) sneaker that has been unimaginable from the streets for years. The black version has dominated the skate / punk scene for years. This edition is a lot more striking with large flames on the upper.

You love it or hate it! The Nike Air More Uptempo is a basketball sneaker that, with its striking letters on the side, is a real neckbreaker. This version is also part of the "Wheat" collection, a Nike collection that we actually see coming back every year in which all colourways assume a brown tint and the uppers are often made of high end suede. A must have for every basketball sneaker collector.

10 years ago when sneakers weren't dominating the street scene, Nike already managed to make sneaker heads crazy with the release of sneakers in special colorways and with special materials. Often these sneakers are now worth much more than they were at the time because they are mega unique for this time. The special thing about this Air Max 1 is the "Safari" pattern in a mint colorway. This has never been done this way again on the Air Max 1 model. This LowLands goer actually has gold on them but shows that sneakers are there to shine and to party with! BEAT your HEAT!

Some sneaker pairs are even too high for us to wear to LowLands. This is certainly one of them with its 11 years and quite good condition this pair is our BEATED HEAT topper. Respect to the sneakerhead who is wearing this at LowLands!

See you next year!
