FOR UNITY AND TOGETHERNESS.
Vienna-based design studio ATELIER KAMP has teamed up with KangaROOS to release a sneaker inspired by the VIC, better known as Vienna International Center. Founder Nora and Florian Kampelmühler specialize in graphic design, illustration, hand lettering and visual merchandising. The two designers are deeply rooted in Hip-hop culture and are inspired by everything around them.
For ATELIER KAMP, the Vienna International Center is very important, because it brings a lot of memories. For example, Florian Kampelmühler's aunt worked at the VIC and always bought him sweets and drinks.
The sneaker is made in the Hummels & Hummels factory in Germany. The upper is largely made of high-quality nappa leather in a beautiful blue color. Soft light gray suede is used on the back. The side panels are reminiscent of the construction of the VIC. As an ode to the 1970s, an orange color has been used on the KangaROOS logo and sockliner of the sneaker.
The ATELIER KAMP x KangaROOS Ultralight MiG “VIC” comes in a special box containing a pair of socks, a booklet with information about the sneaker and laces.
The ATELIER KAMP x KangaROOS Ultralight MiG “VIC” will be released on Friday September 10th at SneakerBAAS. You can already register via our launches page.
